How to use Argan oil for skin

Argan oil for skin: The 2 main ways it is [and was] used in Morocco for hundreds of years

Argan oil for skin
Argan oil for skin is an ideal allrounder for pretty much any skin issue.

1. Pure Argan oil for the face:

Thanks to the fast and easy absorption characteristic of pure Argan oil, only a soft massage of the targeted area is required.
The application to the whole face is also desirable.
You can use Argan oil for skin during the day as well as overnight to nourish and moisturize the face and to enhance the skin rejuvenation process (especially during sleep).

Try it instead of your usual moisturizing and rejuvenating cream or lotion.
Depending on your needs, you can use pure Argan oil for skin two to three times a day or every night (or both) as a moisturizing agent for rehydrating, freshening, and conditioning your skin.
After your cleansing regimen, simply pour some drops of Argan oil into the palms of your hands, rub them a little then gently massage them into your face.
Your skin will quickly and naturally absorb the Argan oil without leaving any greasy residue.
When you use Argan oil for skin, it´s not a problem if you use much oil. You can easily wipe off any excess from your face using a towel or a cotton ball.
Argan oil for skin can also be used as a very good women’s make-up base thanks to its non-oily and non-greasy nature.
Please allow it some time to thoroughly seep in before applying your make-up.
You can also apply Argan oil for skin to help soften and cure scars caused by skin diseases, skin dryness and wrinkles.

2. Argan oil for the body:

The best time to use pure Argan oil on your body is after showering or bathing. This way it helps retain the moisture and keep the skin soft and elastic.
However, you can also use it more or less often depending on your needs.
Gently massage a very moderate amount (depending on the size of the surface) of pure organic Argan Oil into your body.
To help prevent stretch marks, especially during pregnancy, massage your belly skin gently every evening before rest.
Argan oil for skin can also be used over areas where stretch marks are already existing as it will considerably help restore the elasticity of the skin of the areas in question.
Pure Argan oil can also be mixed with your favorite oils like sweet almond or rose oil.
These kinds of Argan oil mixtures can be applied as needed to any body part.
But the effectiveness, in this case, is lessened through the mixing: the needed volume is bigger to reach the same effect in comparison to that of pure organic Argan oil.

  • I did not like Jose Marin Argan’s oil – its was too oily! The Arganfarm Argan Oil has improved the appearance of my thick coarse hair and has made it feel really soft and tamed my wavy/curly hair. What I like most about it is that it does not leave my hair with a greasy residue the way Jose Marin Argan Oil does.

  • Can guys use this too

    • A

      Hi Kevin,

Yes, 100% pure and organic Argan oil suits both genders and almost all kinds of skin / hair.

      Regards 🙂

  • What is the shelf life for argon oil?

    • A

      Hi Kim,

I don’t know about the shelf-life of Argon(!). If you mean Argan oil however, here you go:

      – Cosmetic Argan oil: up to 24 months
      – Culinary Argan oil: up to 12 months

Provided you get a fresh-pressed product like ours 😉

      Cheers!

P.S.: Here is a video you might want to check, to get a clearer idea on the difference between Argan & Argon 😉

  • Which argan oil shall i buy for face…cosmetic or calinary whats the difference?

    • Try this 100% pure argan oil 🙂
It’s really 100% pure so no harsh chemicals in it. 100% pure Argan oil is a bit pricey but it’s worth it because the quality of it is amazing. 🙂

      Hi Riga,

Since you want to use Argan oil for your skin, then you should by cosmetic Argan oil.
      Here is the link: https://www.arganfarm.com/buy-argan-oil/#pricing

The difference is that cosmetic Argan oil is used for beauty and cosmetic purposes, and the culinary version (as the name suggests) is for eating 🙂

      Cheers.

I want to ask if I can use this oil for hair fall and thickening hair..I’m from India and I ordered argan oil online..but I don’t know how to use it for hair fall and hair thickening…please help me..

  • Please answer if you can.I bought Vitamin E Oil last week when I noticed the Argan Oil sitting beside it on shelf at Walmart. Is it the Same as being “Organic” or is all the Argan Oil the same.
    Thank You.

  • Hello Sir 🙂
Can you please let me know from where to purchase argan oil?
I belong from India and can not find any place where I will get it. There are many brands but I am not sure which one is good. please advise . I will be thankful to you if you will answer my question

    • Richard, I seen the Argan Oil at Walmart for between $6.00 to $8.00 a bottle. It said on Bottle that it was to be used on Skin, Nails & The Ends of your Hair. So I looked it up and it doesn’t matter what Brand because they all are for the same Benefit. I haven’t tried it yet because I wanted to read more about it before I started using it. I use Vitamin E Oil & I’m going to start the Argan now. I’m kinda afraid to Order from Online because I really don’t know what would be in the Bottle.
I hope this has helped anyone that’s never used this and is Considering trying it.
Thank You & I hope you think about it before ordering Online. I’m not trying to or Saying the sites that sell the Argan Oil will Dis-Represent anyone, I’m just saying this is how I feel & Trust the Internet on Buying this type of Item.

  • I’ve been using pure, virgin Argan Oil on my skin for the last year (no more day or night creams, only Argan Oil as moisturiser, once in the morning and once at night, I also use an SPF50 in the morning) and scarring and uneven skin tone from years of breakouts throughout my twenties have almost completely disappeared. My skin looks and feels wonderful when compared with what it was like before I used Argan. It’s been my best beauty discovery, ever. I’ve also started using it on my body during winter months and I’m a fan for life.

  • hello
    thank you for you article.
I use argan oil and find it sometimes a bit too ‘thick’. is there any way to make it thinner with natural products?

    • A
      Bader Eddine

      Hi Dylon,

You’re welcome. Glad you found the article useful.
Though I wouldn’t recommend it, but yes, you can make Argan oil thinner i.e. with other lighter essential oils etc.

      Cheers for stopping by 😉

  • Hey! I Wanted to ask if argan oil helps minimizing fine lines on face if it helps, in how many days we can see results.

    • A
      Bader Eddine

      Hi Kashish,

If you mean by *lines* the wrinkles etc.., then yes. How long it takes to see results, is case sensitive however.
That being said, 1 to 2 weeks is a reasonable time~frame to see considerable results on a wide variety of skin issues.

      Regards,

  • Hey! I wanted to ask what amount of argon oil should be used while applying in hair for purposes like dandruff and split-ends. I have long hair.

  • Danica Morunga

    Hello 😀

I was just wondering if it’d be ideal/worth applying a moisturising cream on top of the argan oil for extra hydration and benefits? I was looking at a day moisturising cream and a night replenishing one to purchase, but I’m not sure if it’d be necessary… The moisturisers that I would like to purchase have a lot of other beneficial natural and pure oils and extracts, and so that’s why I’m caught up…

Also, I don’t know if this helps your answer or not but, I would just be using about 1 drop of argan oil and 1 drop of rosehip oil together and apply that on my face, so I wouldn’t actually be using a lot of argan oil, but I would still be using enough to do it’s job (I think…).

If you could reply, it would be muchly appreciated (:

    Thank you (;

      Hi Danica,

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Basically, I’m a little biased when it comes to industrial creams, as one never really knows what kind of chemical concoctions one smears on his/her skin, regardless of what names (+ what quantities) of “natural” products the manufacturers put on their ingredients’ lists, often to boost sales.

That aside, Argan oil Per Se, is the All-in-one ideal solution for both uses you mentioned: as a day moisturizer as well as a leave-in night replenishing, rejuvenating oil and would replace any amount of other products you need for this purpose.

Furthermore, mixing Argan oil with anything else usually lessens its impact. So, if you’re really keen on mixing Argan oil with anything else, then at least do so with All-natural products.
About the quantity of Argan oil you’re using: It all depends on the skin type, the kinds of issues it’s used for etc..! Actually one to two drops drops per application are enough for most usual skin types. So if you got good results and feel that one drop of Argan oil is enough for you, that’s awesome (I use it 3 times a day, especially in winter). This way, not only you replace other products you probably won’t need to purchase anymore, but you also keep your Argan oil bottle for a while.

I hope this answers you questions.
Feel free to ask if you need anything else 😉

      • Danica Morunga

        Okay, thank you (:
So all in all, using a moisturiser/cream after applying argan oil is unneccesary? And it’s fine with using 1 drop of argan oil and one drop of pure rosehip oil and then mixing it together on my hands then applying it on my face? Or should I apply them on separately(one by one, and if so, in what order)?

        Thank you (:

        • A

          You’re welcome.
          #Usingamoisturizer: see explanation above!
          #MixingArganoil: see above as well.
#Order: It doesn’t matter whether you mix them right away or you apply them after each other (in which order, doesn’t matter either).

          Regards.

  • Jennylee

Hello I have a few questions. I understand that argan oil good for acne. The way I understand its that when you add oil to your skin you don’t produce as much oil hence a decrease in oil that can cause acne. I would like to know if this can have an adverse affect If you don’t have oily skin. If I use to much especially under the eyes is it possible that my skin will not produce as much oil and I will wrinkle easier? Also is it ok under the eyes? This question about the oil production I would like to know also if you use it abundantly throughout the day can this happen and if so should you limit use to twice a day and how much. Thank you so much for any light you can shed on this .

      Bader Eddine

      Hi Jenny,

I’ll just go ahead and answer your questions one by one:

#Adding Argan oil to your skin:

It doesn’t necessary mean that your skin will reduce its oil production if you use Argan oil.
Argan oil will rather balance your skin’s natural sebum production which will tremendously help prevent acne breakouts.

      #Adverse effects:

We don’t know the details of your case, so we can’t tell you exactly. But we rarely heard of cases where people had any adverse effects using Argan oil. The only issue one may have, is if one has allergies.

      # Using Argan oil under the eyes:

Argan oil is known to even the skin tone and it is used by a lot of our clients for this purpose exactly. It’s highly recommended to use Argan oil for all the body skin not only under the eyes.
And NO, you won’t get wrinkles using Argan oil, that would be pretty much like getting thirsty by drinking more water 😉

      # Number of applications per day:

Depending on your skin type and your needs, you may use Argan oil up to 3 times a day (3 if your skin is dry, 1 if it is oily)
Check this for more tips on how to use Argan oil best.
