What’s Goats Argan Oil & What’s The Difference As Opposed To Premium Argan Oil?

Some so-called Argan oil “experts” & sellers are preaching that goats Argan oil has the same quality as the Argan oil extracted out of hand-harvested Argan fruits.

Others pretend that the goats´ Argan nuts are collected from their waste.

Let’s hear what a person, who knows best about it, says.

  • Are the goats´ Argan nuts collected from their waste or do they spit them out?
  • How is the goats´ Argan oil quality?
  • Is the quantity of Argan kernels needed to extract 1 Liter of Argan oil the same for both goats´ & hand-collected Argan fruits?

Ok, what’s your name?
Fadna.
Fadna, are you willing to answer my questions?
Yes
Thank you very much for accepting.
I thank you too.

What about goats´ Argan fruits? Do they spit them out at home or how do they do it?
Goats climb the tree!
And after eating them, where do they spit them out?
They put them either on the ground in the forest or, if the weather is hot, we bring the goats back and they spit them out at home.
Alright. At home?
Yes.
ok.
And is it the same thing for the goats Argan oil?
No, the quality isn’t the same. The goats Argan oil is of less quality.
No, I meant how much goat Argan fruit Kernels do you need for 1 liter Argan oil?
The same amount of Argan kernels, regardless of whether the Argan fruits/kernels are hand-picked or from goats.

Contrary to some misleading claims you can find in many online sources, the goats Argan oil isn’t collected from the animals’ waist, but they rather spit it out after eating the fleshy pulp.
And although the quantity of Argan kernels extracted from goats’ Argan fruits and needed for 1 Liter Argan oil, is the same as the one needed from the hand-collected fruits, the Argan oil extracted from the latter has a superior quality.

  • Nice post. So to understand correctly – it’s exactly the same as regular argan oil except it’s picked by the goats instead of humans?

      Welcome back Elise,

If you mean the quality, then no, it’s not the same. The Argan oil extracted out of hand-collected fruits has a superior quality.
One can even smell a kind of an “animal” touch in the goats’ oil.
As explained in the infographic (min 2:19), the quantity of kernels needed to yield 1 liter of Argan oil is the same though, no matter how the fruits are collected.

I hope this answers your question 😉

      Cheers
